We will use a PHP/MySQL script provided for free by Cogzidel Technologies, called RBS, acronym of Reverse Bidding System. It’s practically a clone of the well known Scriptlance.com, same features, same placements and same logic. RBS is a Free script released under a GPL licence, that allow individuals to publish their own professional profiles (Portfolio) and search for online available jobs, published by buyers and companies seeking for part time workers. The principe is simple :
The user register, after choosing from being a buyer or a freelancer (you can register as both). After that, if the user register as freelancer, he will be able to choose categories of work (Coding, Design, Writing …) he is interested in, choose payment gateways (Paypal Integrated) and start searching for work, and if he registered as a buyer, he have to deposit some money (administrative choice, you can disable deposit to post) and start interviewing freelancers interested on that job. Once done, he can close the job or hire a freelancer. It’s just like an auction script with more power to the buyer !
One of the best features it contain is the ability to oblige the buyer to escrow money when he choose a freelancer. That way, you are sure that no scams can be done as the money will be deposited at your (admin) Paypal account and will be only released to worker after completion of the job. Many websites aren’t using such feature like Odesk for example which make any buyer able to request work and get it done without paying a penny !
There is also a great list of other features in the worker member area such as the messaging board where he can talk with buyers and receive messages on, receive daily emails about job categories he subscribed in, report violations (like opening a ticket, and you will be the judge !) and many other features as follows :

- Place bid, retract bid, accept/reject projects
- Manage bids on projects
- Send private messages to buyers
- Ability to transfer monies to buyer
- Ability to favourite a seller
- Ability to ban a buyer
- Ability to build profile along with logo etc
- Ability to rate and review buyers
- Maintain online account of all financial transactions
- Ability to withdraw funds by Paypal
For buyers, they also have many great features like reporting a seller (worker) to get his money back (You have to inform Paypal about your project and your payees so that you can take money back when problems happen between buyers and sellers), escrow and deposit a some of money thought Paypal, rate a seller, view the best rated sellers and :
- Ability to post multiple projects
- Ability to post Featured, urgent and hide project bids
- Ability to upload files through file manager
- Manage bids on projects
- Contact Seller via Project message board
- Invite top Sellers
- View top Sellers, ratings and review
- Search service provider according to skillset
- Ability to favourite a seller
- Ability to ban a seller
- Ability to transfer funds
- Ability to withdraw funds
The administrative area is also a well coded platform where you can see tickets (reports), users, funds transferred and received, manage works and categories ban and add users. You can also make some other persons administrating this project by giving them the “Administrative permission” by modifying their profiles.
An important thing you should know that the securer system of freelancing now is RentACoder.com, so if you are interested in launching such project, I suggest that you hire a coder (PHP developer) to modify a little this script and add some features that can compete with such website. RBS run under a PHP5 environment and MySQL5 ; those are the only requirements to run such project
